December was full of LOTS of cupcake making! I made around 50 cupcakes and brought them to work. They were a hit! Everybody raved about the icing! Then later that day Spence and I went over the Sevy's house were I made MORE cupcakes for Spencer to bring to HIS work the following day.
Then that Friday my division at work had our Christmas party. We ate at Strack's bar-b-que in the back banquet hall. They rented tables from Las Vegas Connection for Texas Hold 'em and a bunch of other games. I can't remember their names! Some of the guys forced me to play one of the games. After 45 minutes of playing you would think I would understand the rules, well I didn't! But it was still fun. I got to bring home a poinsetta plant, left over cupcakes and a $25 amazon giftcard. : )
While I was at the work party a fellow employee came up to me RAVING about the cupcakes. I gave her one Thursday morning, but she didn't eat it until later that night at her house. She said as soon as she finished eating it she starting to think up reasons why she needed me to make her some more cupcakes. So Friday, at the Christmas party she asked if I would make some for her for a party she was going to be hosting at her house the following week--FOR MONEY. Sweet! So there was MORE cupcake making!
Christmas tree cupcakes!! : ) I didn't make these until about 1a.m. and finished them the next morning. Talk about CUPCAKE OVERLOAD. : )
Just when I thought that I was sick of making cupcakes, I started another batch of cupcakes for BUNCO night at my parent's house Friday-December 21st. I made the icing on these a little more minty than the previous Christmas tree cupcakes. I also used a different icing tip to ice them.
My group of high school friends have been wanting to get together to play BUNCO for years! We played at my parents house early in our high school years and it was such a great memory for everybody who was there! We still tell funny stories about that day. So I finally gave in to getting together a bunch of friends to come play Bunco at my parent's. It was SO much fun! Let's just say that the neighbors 2 houses down mentioned to my mom the following day how loud we were. She could hear us from all the way down there! I lost my voice that night too! That was one of my least favorite parts of the holiday. I pretty much completely lost my voice around midnight that night in the middle of talking. It was even worse the next morning when I woke up. I've lost my voice probably twice in my whole life. I didn't realize it would be so painful and frustrating! It took about a week for my to regain my voice. Even then my throat was scratchy and dry. Just breathing in air would make my throat itch, causing more coughing. FUN STUFF! Fortunately that's the only sickness I've had over the holidays, which is BETTER than most people can say! Apparently the flu is rampant this season!
So anyway, back to Bunco...SOO much fun, especially since I won the most buncos which gets the highest cash prize!! 4 buncos the entire night! That's still crazy to me! If you've ever played bunco, you know that's impressive! ;) It requires no skill, just luck.
So much fun! So glad we were all able to get together this year!
