Happy Halloween!!!!!!

On Sunday night Spence and I finally got to carve our pumpkin. All I knew was that I wanted to sparkle-ify SOMETHING! I had just bought a big container of gold glitter. Needless to say we came up with the perfect solution where Spencer was able to carve and I was able to glitterize. :)

lol...LOVING those business socks!

        Isn't he cute?!?!

Then it was my turn! We stuffed the "S" with paper towels so the glitter wouldn't get all over the inside of the pumpkin.

We used a spray adhesive to make the glitter stick.

We make a good team! :)

Besides the fact that we keep finding glitter all over the house, we are LOVING our pumpkin!!! Hope you guys have a HaPpY HalLoWeeN!

How about them apples!

Saturday night Spence and I made caramel apples. With help from Spencer and my dad we unwrapped 3 packages of caramels.

It was at about midnight when the caramel was fully melted. I woke my daddy up and had him come in a dip an apple. Haha...sleepy, but still has a smile on his face! : ) I also love that he's representing UT and A&M!

My mom had taken a Benadryl and she was OUT...on the couch.

And then it was CHOCOLATE time!

Then Spencer got crative with the chocolate that dripped on to the wax paper.

And THAT gave him a better idea!

Pretty cute, huh?! We make such a good team, not going to lie.

A few of the toppings we used were chocolate, white chocolate, snickers bar, cookies and cream bar, mini chocolate chips, peanuts, marshmellow cream, and reese's pieces. We had heath bars, sprinkles and mini marshmellows but we ran out of apples.

It was almost 2a.m. so I quickly wrapped them up in leftover wedding bags we used for the candy bar.

This reminds me of my favorite caramel apple suckers!! My mouth is watering just thinking about their goodness. I got to find me some of those!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!! Thanks for following.

It's a girl!

Haha...no silly! I'm not pregnant. ; ) But I DID get to shop for baby girl clothes and accessories and make SUPER cute cupcakes for a baby shower on Friday. Let me tell ya, I just can't get enough of those cute little girl clothes. OMG! Ruffles, bows, polka dots, pink, cheetah print, and MORE ruffles and MORE pink! I think our girls will be divas and I'm not ashamed to say it!

I sprinkled them in edible glitter too! SO.CUTE.

Aren't they cute?!? Yeah, they were delicious too! So moist, and let me tell you, my buttercream icing is to die for! Just saying... : )

Spencer's birthday--Cookies and cream ice cream cake!!

This past Saturday was my hubby's birthday. It was a pretty lax day, which was nice. We got to spend pretty much the entire day together which is a rare occasion these days with full time work and full time school. He's so hard working! With such a crazy schedule he STILL manages to catch all of his teacher's attention in all of his classes. They love him and his creativity. And so do I!

Saturday night he went to the Priesthood session of General Conference with his dad while I finished making the frosting and icing Spencer's birthday cake. He was home in time for us to run out and get some Mexican food to bring back home and eat. So we ate at home while opening birthday presents. Then afterwards cake, of course! Homemade cookies and cream ice cream cake. Yes, it was delicious, and there are still plenty of leftovers, even after sharing with our families! We don't mind eating on it all week. : )

You can kind of follow the ice cream cake steps by looking at the pictures:

I pretty much just made up my own whip cream recipe to use for the icing. Everybody seemed to like it!

This is making me hungry!

He's so cute! : )

I didn't spend much time icing it, but I thought it turned out really cute!

Happy birthday to the sweetest boy I know!! He only gets sweeter as the years go by! I love you Spencer.

Sewing machine desk--PROJECT

I'm so excited to show you guys my latest project! Spencer and I bought this used desk for $10 a couple of months ago. It sat around my parents house for a couple of weeks until I decided what color I wanted to paint it. I knew I wanted it blue, but once I went to pick out the paint color it seems like there were ENDLESS choices of the color blue! I finally found my match and painted away one Saturday afternoon. I was able to finish the entire thing that weekend because it was labor day weekend. I was able to finish it early that Monday.

Here is the desk before sanding:

I sanded it pretty well. There was a little bit of water damage on the top, after sanding it you would have never known it was there!

Here's the desk after sanding everything. I wanted to make sure there was a rough texture on all the surfaces I wanted to paint so that the paint would stick.

Here's my color! LOVE it! I might have to paint something else this color.

After painting it I waited a day until I started to antique and rough up the edges. I tried to antique it the same day I painted it, but the paint just wasn't dry enough. I also didn't want to make it TOO antiqued looking so I went light on the sanding. I think I did just the perfect amount for what I was wanting.

The third day I finished antiquing it and then took the desk outside and coated it in this satin sealer. I practically used the entire can. I thought it was going to leave it semi-glossy, but it put a rough texture on it. It did shimmer in the sun though. I thought the texture was a little weird at first, but I really love it now. It's not glossy and it's not flat, it's kind of between the two.

Here is the finished product! The picture doesn't do it justice. I'll have to pictures of it in our apartment.

So I've decided I love transforming furniture. I've actually already got a bunch of other furniture that needs painted. I just have to go pick out the paint. I think it's going to be my new hobby. I love seeing potential in an old piece of neglected furniture. Hope you guys liked the transformation. It's seriously cute in our apartment. You should see the gold frame I bought last weekend that's hanging above it now. SERIOUSLY. It's gorgeous! Stay tuned for pictures, once I take them. : ) Thanks for following!
