Cruise-Day 2 May 21, 2012

Day 2 of the cruise was our anniversary! We started off the day with room service. Spence ordered room service practically every day. It was actually really nice. It was a good wake up call (even if Spence had to answer the door in his pajamas) and it was nice to not have to go upstairs and wait in line to get food. Plus we don't ever eat a big breakfast so some toast, salmon, and fruit was perfect and light.

We also laid in bed while the cruise directors announced our anniversary on their morning show:

Next we went to the gym for a nice morning workout.Honestly, it's the best way to start a day. You feel good for the rest of the day, at least that's my opinion.

I forgot to mention on the first day, Spencer had planned to have the room decorated for our anniversary. Here's what we saw when we first arrived to our room the first day on the boat.

Haha...He's sooo cute! I can't stand it.

Checking out the schedule for the day.

(The above pictures were from Day 1.)

After our work out we walked around the boat to see if we could find something going on. We went out to the pool where they were having the hairy chest competition. FUNNY.

And had lunch...

RIDICULOUSNESS.

Not the best picture. This is after our workout.

We did a redo of our honeymoon picture from a year ago. The waiters always think it's cute.

Well, Spence and I found online that we could order anniversary cakes for each other before we left for the cruise. About a couple of days before the cruise I got online and ordered a chocolate mousse cake for our anniversary. Little did I know that a couple of days before the cruise Spencer did the same thing (He just bought the bigger chocolate cake). We both picked the same exact thing!! HA HA....we actually found out that we had both ordered cakes for each other the day before our anniversary so we laughed about it all day.  We just waiting for them to laugh at us about it. I wonder if that happens a lot. Our waiter came out with two receipts in his hand and kind gave us a little laugh. We knew exactly what he was laughing at before he said anything. To solve the double cake problem, they gave us our smaller chocolate cake the day of our anniversary and saved the second cake for the day after. They even sang us a little song and lit two little candles on top. Everyone watched as laughed.  The cake was seriously delicious, but they cut it in half and gave one half to me, and one to Spencer. WAYYYY too much cake! I ate what I could!

Our towel animal for the night:

It was an awesome day. I'm just glad I got to spend the entire day with my best friend without work or school getting in the way. It was just him and I with no technology. Life is so much better when there are less distractions. I can't believe it's already been a year! It's gone by so fast! That's because we've stayed so busy and had so much fun! ; ) I have a feeling we're going to be 80 in the blink of an eye and have 30 grandchildren! HA HA...We can't wait to see what the future holds, but for now we'll just enjoy our time as husband and wife. I love my Spencer. It's been the best year!

Cruise-Day 1

Well I figured it was about time to start posting pictures from the cruise Spencer and I went on at the end of May. It was our 1 year anniversary vacation and we had so much fun. We had been looking at cruises for months but didn't end up booking it until about 2 weeks before we were supposed to leave. Fortunately I had already gone to get my passport and Spencer already had his from his Brazil adventures. : ) I've decided I like to plan vacations only a week or two in advance. I don't like to anticipate vacations months in advance.

When we got home from the cruise we immediately started looking at more cruises for the near future. We're addicted to vacation, it just never seems like we get enough of it!

I've been soooooo slow to put up pictures because we took over 2,000 pictures during our 7 day cruise. Too many? I don't think so. You can NEVER have too many pictures. So overwhelming that it makes you avoid blogging them? YES, especially when you take 3 different cameras and all of the pictures are out of order. BUT...this is my attempt to get them in order and show you how much fun we had.

We'll start with Day 1 of the cruise. On Day 1 we boarded the boat around 2p.m. It didn't leave until 4p.m. but that gave us some time to settle in and check out our room. We were on the Carnival Magic. It's one of the newest ships (only a year old) and it's Carnivals biggest..so that was cool! Of course once we checked out our room we went to check out the buffet lines. Our first meals were burritos. YUMMMMY. I'm not going to lie, I didn't have ONE bad meal on this boat. NOT ONE.

Saying goodbye to Galveston. Galveston, we will not miss you...

Spencer was soooo excited to have packed a weeks worth of Monsters in his suitcase. We knew something went wrong when they delivered his suitcase to our room and it reeked of Monster energy drink. He opened up his suitcase to find most of his clothes wet, and stained yellow from the Monsters that has been crushed from suitcases being piled on top of each other. Lucky for us we got to spend a few hours 2 days later doing laundry. : )

Here we are at dinner the first night...we look tired. It was a long day.

Mr. Healthy:

AND Mrs. not so healthy:

And of course not so healthy dessert.

Found the picture they made us take while boarding the ship. We were nice and sweaty, and SO excited to take a picture! HA...we laughed because the pictures didn't turn out all that bad. Still wasn't worth buying, so I took a picture of it instead. : )

Went to the theatre for a show:

We both did a couple of slot machines just because we could. : )

We took a stroll around the boat and Talladega Nights was on! We only watched it for a bit.

And this is evidence of our midnight ice cream trips...pretty much EVERY night. We both went into ice cream withdraws when we got home from the cruise. LOL...Sad I know. We were truly addicted. Spencer's goal was to make it as high as he could. You'll notice throughout the trip they get bigger. He got a few laughs every time we would get ice cream.

Well that's all I have for Day 1. Stay posted for more cruise posts!

MORE 4th of July

I think it's time I start catching up on this thing! I have such a

HUGE amount of pictures to post that it's just so overwhelming, so I

keep avoiding it! I'm going to start with the rest of my 4th of July

goodies. I made cupcakes for the little munchkins in nursery the

Sunday before the 4th. I individually wrapped each cupcake in i

t's own plastic cup. I'm sure most of you can guess where I got this

idea from! ; ) Then I topped them off with a sparkly ribbon. It

doesn't have my signature on it unless there's a touch of sparkle.

We have them to the kids as they were leaving for fear of icing and

cake smashed into the carpets at church. We'll leave that for home!

; )

Not going to lie...this is probably the BEST icing I have ever had! I

got a few messages from people asking for the recipe. It's

RIDICULOUS, nothing special, just the way I mixed the ingredients

is different than how I used to.

Momma Sevy bought me some 4th of July cupcake holders. So

naturally I just HAD to make more cupcakes for the actual holiday

on Wednesday. These were chocolate!

I forgot to get pictures of the dessert table when the cobblers

arrived.

It was fun to spend time with my family, the Sevys, the Harmans,

missionaries, and My Aunt Kathy and Uncle Steve. They were in

town from New Mexico for a bit so they were able to stop by for

lunch and treats also.

Em and I went out to take some pictures just outside the backyard

to get some festive pictures of her. We weren't out there long due to

the ridiculous amounts of fire ants and mosquitoes. Got to love

those Texas summers!

AND they started to get goofy...

AND scary...this hurts my eyes just looking at it!

We ended the day with a few fireworks and a million mosquito

bites. It was a fun day and will continue to be one of my favorite

holidays. Hope y'all enjoyed your holiday as well!
